• Uzhhorod National University begins a cooperation with Catholic University of Lublin (Poland);
• the representatives of our university won 8 first prizes at the Ukrainian powerlifting championship;
• students of Uzhhorod National University celebrated the St. Patrick`s Day.

Uzhhorod National University begins cooperation with Catholic University of Lublin (Poland). On the 19th and 20th of March Oleksandr Bilash, the Head of the Research Institute of Confession-Related Law and Relations, visited the Catholic University of Lublin, where he discussed issues on the cooperation between the two universities. Organization of joint scientifiс events and providing opportunities for exchange of teachers and students is planned. One of the topics discussed was introduction of a new joint certified study programme for confession-related law in the academic year 2015–2016. The College of Uzhhorod National University organized a competition in Ukrainian language for ethnic minority students. The students of Hungarian, Romanian, Slovakian, Roma, Georgian, Armenian and Russian ethic origin participated in the event under the motto Live, our wonderful language, among fraternal languages! The competition consisted of two stages: oral (reciting poems in the native and the Ukrainian languages) and written (translation from the native to the Ukrainian language and an essay). The jury of competition rated the participants.

St. Patrick`s Day is a traditional Irish holiday, which now is also spread all over the world. The students of the Faculty of Tourism and International Communication decided to celebrate this holiday together with another residents of Uzhhorod. They organized a night run. The route was a circle from Teatralna Sq. across Kyivska and Nezalezhosti embankments and the transport bridge. Our students welcomed all the participants after the finish and organized small competitions and a fire show.

Ukrainian championship in powerlifting Sevastopol competed in benchpress and classic benchpress. Within the team of Trancarpathia, the representatives of Uzhhorod National University trained by Andriy Fedorishko were the best. They won 8 gold medals of the total nine won by the Transcarpathian team. Besides, the best Transcarpathian powerlifters Yelyzaveta Ryzhak and Yevhen Krysa received the Ukrainian Powerlifting Federation certificates of Ukrainian national record holders for the records set in the previous year. Note that Yelyzaveta Ryzhak recently graduated from our university and at this competition worked as a referee.
